If possible, cover the damage with clear tape or one of our Chip Savers to help keep out moisture and debris.

Avoid Temperature Stress

Try to avoid major temperature swings before your appointment. Parking in the shade, a garage, or facing the windshield away from direct sun can help reduce stress on the glass.

Avoid Car Washes

Please avoid car washes before your repair appointment. Rapid temperature changes from hot or cold water can increase stress on the windshield and raise the risk of cracking.

Skip DIY Repair Kits, Nail Polish & Super Glue

Please avoid DIY repair kits, nail polish, or super glue before your appointment. Failed DIY repairs can make professional repair more difficult—or sometimes impossible.

If the Crack Spreads

Don’t panic if the crack spreads before your appointment. Many spreading cracks are still repairable. If it becomes significantly longer, please let us know so we can allow enough repair time.

Weather Delays

If weather conditions are unsuitable for repair, we’ll contact you to reschedule. In some cases, repairs may still be possible if the vehicle is kept dry in a garage.
